Ramya was born in Bangalore, Karnataka on November 29, 1981. She taught school in St. Hilda in Ooty, Tamil Nadu. Then she received an exemption of St. Joseph College of Commerce, Bangalore. Ramya participated in the play rehearsals and dance class school. Her mother tongue Kannada. She is proud and pleased kannadiga Razhkumar much.
Ramya entered into film industry with Kannada movie Abhi roles against Puneet Rajkumar. As his latest hit "Arasu" along with Puneet Rajkumar and Meera Jasmine released in early 2007 is well again. It is considered "Golden" Girl in Kannada film industry as a chance for success with nearly 90 percent of her career.
The film "Amrithadhare" shows her as one of his last films directed by Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar. Her debut film in Kollywood bombed at box office.
