Shriya grew up in Ranipur. She studied at Delhi Public School and earned a BA in literature from Lady Sri Ram College. It is also a Kathak dancer and trained at Shobha Narayan.
It began as a model, appears in several commercials like Brook Bond Red Label, Lux and Head & Shoulders. It has also been a part of the music videos as Tirakthi Kyun Hawa Reenu Nathan was shot in Varanasi.

Shriya broke into films with a Telugu film Ishtam in 2001. Although the film has been a success yet, the industry has noticed.
