The Ark of Covenant

This has enthralled people since its mention in the Bible. God told Moses to form a Tabernacle for the Israelites and wherein a special room named the Holy of Holies would house the Ark. Created from acacia wood coated in gold, it held three valuable artifacts, golden pot of manna, two stone tablets housing the Ten Commandments, and the Rod of Aaron. The Ark is also famous for its supernatural powers, but was never seen after 586 BC as its supposedly home called the Temple of Solomon was damaged by the Babylonians. Claims are been made for it to be hidden away in the Temple Mount, Mount Nebo, the Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion, Languedoc, the Hill of Tara, and Mount Tsurugi.

Lost Island of Atlantis

As per Plato, the Greek philosopher, Atlantis was at the west of the Rock of Gibraltar as a large island where advanced Atlanteans used to stay. Further, it was the land of massive beauty and that it hold a palace compound enclosed by three ringed canals. Its end was inevitable because of a huge earthquake that made the sea swallowed it. How true is this story? Today, its probable locations are assumed to be the Bermuda Triangle, Santorini in Greece, Crete, Sweden, and the Atlas Mountains of Morocco.

The Puzzle of the Sphinx

Recollect the Great Sphinx at Giza that is a symbolic structure considered by Greece, Syria, and Phoenicia. Today, it is no less than a mysterious structure for the scholars – Who built it?, How old is it?, and What is the aim of the tunnels within? The conventional science reveals that it was made by the Pharaoh Khafre in 2500 BC; while the geologist Robert M. Schoch in 1989 found that the Sphinx is much older than Kafre.

King Arthur

Who does not know this king who ruled Scotland, Wales, Norway, Ireland, Germany, Denmark, Gaul, Brittany, and Normandy? Well, the question is that whether this king really existed or was he just a mythical character introduced in to motivate the English troops? Whether Arthur is a mythical king or not, his stories might have been as per the many real people of history. One of them was that the king was a Roman leader called Lucius Artorius Castus. However, some are of the opinion that the king’s tomb is in Britain, which is to be found.

Vlad Dracula’s tomb

Did you know that Dracula was really a prince of Wallachia in Romania who defended from the Turks? This vampire was also a patriotic hero! As per the history, Dracula was a harsh ruler who tortured 100,000 enemies who were about to destroy his power. Finally, he was overcome in the battle with the Turks in 1476 near Bucharest. The opposite party cut off his head, but nobody knows where he finally rests. Most famous opinion is that the tomb is on the island monastery of Snagov or in the Comana Monastery. However, both were them proved to be false.

Murder of John F Kennedy

In 1963, this famous political icon was shot in the head and in back while he was in a Presidential motorcade with his wife Jacqueline passing via the streets of Dallas. The suspected shooter Lee Harvey Oswald was detained in just 45 minutes after firing. He did so from the Schoolbook Depository Building’s sixth floor using an Italian Mannlicher-Carcano rifle. But, this is suspected. Many theories say that two shooters did this criminal job, the second one being in the Dealey Plaza.

The Crystal Skulls

In 1881, the two Crystal Skulls were discovered by the Mexican mercenaries after which a many such skulls were found across Central and South America. A few most popular skulls are the Mitchel-Hedges Skull the British Museum skull, Paris Skull, the Mayan Skull, the Texas Skull called Max, and the Rose Quartz Skull. The mystery lies as to who made these skulls and for what purpose. It is widely thought to be made by the Aztecs and Mayans. But, it was soon found that the technology used is out of the reach of the new world civilizations. Others suggest that they were made by the aliens or by the inhabitants of Atlantis.

Amelia Earhart

In the field of early aviation, she was the first women to fly over the Atlantic. In 1937, she made a firm decision to circumnavigate the Earth. However, on her way, she disappeared soon while being over the Pacific of the Howland Island. After this, nor her body was found and neither she was seen after that day. However, many claim to see her in Japan today.

The Amber Room

Made in 1701 and been dedicated to the first Prussian King, the room shifted to Russia. Taking 10 years of construction, it covered over 55 square meters and was made from six tons of Baltic amber. After this, even the Hitler’s army could not shift it and so made it hidden with the cover of plain wallpaper. But, they finally disassembled the room to transport it to Konigsberg Castle. This fortress was badly damaged by the Royal Air Force. Reports say that this room has survived, but nobody has seen it yet. Theories say that is hidden underground in the castle, is buried in the Ore Mountains, or is under the Baltic Sea.

The Stonehenge

Seen in Southern England, this is among the most mysterious monuments holding 30 upright and lofty stones and 30 horizontal top stones. Each of these was brought here from several miles away. The mysteries are: What was its purpose, how the stones were carried here, who built it, and is there some astronomical significance? As these questions are many, the theories also vary. Some believe it to be a temple, a grave, and a secular calendar. Others suggest that these bluestones have tremendous healing powers.
